Does anyone know what movie was being filmed in Dupont Circle around 5:00 p.m. yesterday? Please share if you happen to know.

Well, I'm off to Ozzfest with my mom this evening (she is living out her American dream of seeing Ozzy Osbourne perform --- I'm so proud), and then up to Boston early tomorrow morning, for rhinestone's sister's wedding and related activities. Shout-out to M.G., who's lending me her E-ZPass(TM).

Coming next week to a Seeking Irony near you: concert reviews and photos or Moving Units and Blur, both at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C.

Johnny Depp is a frontrunner for a lead in a Tim Burton movie. No surprise there, but guess which movie?

That's right, Burton's adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Previous reports of Christopher Walken taking on the Willy Wonka role were promising as well, so it looks like either way, this movie will have a great Wonka.

Britney and Jared Leto follow-up, via IMDb:

Pop princess Britney Spears has dismissed reports she is enjoying a romance with actor Jared Leto - insisting he's just a friend of a friend. The Boys chanteuse set Tinseltown tongues wagging after she was spotted enjoying the Panic Room hunk's company at Ashton Kutcher's Los Angeles restaurant Dolce on Saturday night. Britney's spokesperson says, "She was out for a girls' night out, and one of the friends knew Jared, who was there with friends, and both groups got together and had a good time." However, spies - who saw the twosome leave the restaurant to head for Ben Affleck's 31st birthday bash - claim that Britney and Jared left the party together much earlier than their respective friends. Intriguingly, Britney's first love Justin Timberlake is currently dating Jared's former fiancee Cameron Diaz.

Nothing concludes an evening of fine dining and corporate networking better than exploring your friendly local brothel. That's right, my first visit to a brothel! Curious? Read all about it right here.

What the fuck??? From IMDb:

Pop beauty Britney Spears has found the ultimate way to get back at ex- lover Justin Timberlake and his new squeeze Cameron Diaz - she's dating the actress' ex-fiance Jared Leto. Britney was reportedly left hurt by press reports of Justin's four-month relationship with Cameron - but she seems to have bounced back fast. The star was caught on camera leaving Los Angeles restaurant Dolce with Fight Club actor Jared on Saturday night - and pals say the pair are getting close. A friend reveals, "Britney is upset about seeing Justin looking so close to Cameron. Jared was a shoulder to cry on, and he and Britney have known each other a long while as friends. However, in recent weeks they have seen each other more regularly and are growing closer. She really enjoys Jared's company but they were wary of the attention they would get considering who their old flames are." Britney and Justin split in March last year amid rumors the sexy singer had a fling with dancer Wade Robson. Cameron and Jared were engaged for three years before splitting earlier this year.

And more disturbing news from IMBb:

Bubbly actress Brittany Murphy has a slight problem with the upcoming launch of her singing career - she's yet to decide on which musical genre she'll perform. The Uptown Girls beauty, ex-girlfriend of Eminem and Ashton Kutcher, plans to show off her vocal talents on her debut album this autumn, but has yet to decide on the CD's style. She says, "I was raised on a lot of jazz and hip-hop and R&B and blues, so I have a lot of artists I favor. I'm sure it'll be a hybrid of all that stuff. Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Diana Ross - those are my career idols. Jennifer Lopez, Eminem and Ice Cube have done incredible jobs in juggling both careers. Who knows what my music will end up sounding like, but hopefully people will really like it. I need to get it out of my body and into a microphone."

And for all of you Colin Farrell fans:

Movie hellraiser Colin Farrell has recorded a cover of The Clash's classic "I Fought The Law." The S.W.A.T. star popped into a Dublin studio in March to tape the song for the soundtrack to new movie Intermission. Farrell has previously admitted his desire to become a rock star. He is reportedly in negotiations to play rocker Ozzy Osbourne on-screen and was once a contender to join Irish boyband Boyzone. The movie will also feature tracks by U2, The Thrills, Relish and Ron Sexsmith.

I'm curious to hear Farrell's cover, but Johnny Depp better get that Ozzy role, dammit.

Happy birthday to Matthew Perry and John Stamos! Wow, John Stamos is 40. I just saw him in that 10-10-987 commercial, and damn, he looks good for his age.

Did you know elevators and escalators kill 30 people a year in the United States? I didn't. Hooray, another thing to fear.

This has to be one of the ugliest pictures of Donald Rumsfeld ever. He doesn't look like his usual scary self, just like a creepy old man. Yet, based on extensive research conducted by Chris and me, he's still sexier than Ari Fleischer.

Ah, that's better. Good old "Voodoo Hands" Rumsfeld.
